Grades 5-8

Mission Geography modules at this grade level offer learning opportunities for middle school students. The modules focus on topics that are easily integrated into science and social studies traditional emphasized at this grade level: volcanoes, ancient cultures, planets. The purpose of these modules is to develop students' spatial skills while adding spatial analysis and remote sensing components to more typical middle school topics. Module 3: Human footprints on Earth presents an interesting study of human-environment interaction and environmental challenges resulting from widespread and rapid urbanization.
